Rural development

The role of rural areas in food and non-food production has changed dramatically: agriculture is increasingly considered as a multifunctional and diversified activity that can assume different functions, for example, in environmental protection, landscape maintenance, preservation of cultural traditions, tourist hospitality and, more recently, also in supporting social activities. The research activities on the exploitation and development of food and non-food supply chains follow rural development strategies for the integration of agriculture with other sectors.
